Fluid Power Engineer Intern (Hydraulics/Pneumatics)

Location: hirify.global, Wisconsin, United States; willing to travel or relocate to hirify.global, Wisconsin for the duration of the summer 2027 internship. Summer housing is available for interns whose permanent address is more than 50 miles from the work location.

Pay: $18.00–$37.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Assist mechanical engineers in Design or Research & Development with component and system design, failure analysis, and vehicle or component performance testing.
• Prepare vehicle component layouts using CATIA, Creo, or other CAD software and select components based on weight, cost, reliability, quality, and manufacturability.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production builds on the assembly floor and provide technical assistance to suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
• Generate calculations for weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimates, and mathematical reliability models.
• Analyze field warranty and prototype test data to identify failure trends and participate in root-cause investigations.
• For Research & Development assignments, establish test requirements, create test plans, coordinate testing and data analysis, oversee fixtures and test apparatus, and communicate results and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Interest in fluid power, including hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering field.
• Willingness to travel or relocate to hirify.global, Wisconsin for the duration of the summer 2027 internship.
