Desktop Engineer (SCCM & Endpoint Systems)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States of America; hybrid position with four days on-site at Seneca One Buffalo and the flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Salary: $97,100.00–$161,800.00 annual (USD).

What you will do

• Administer and support Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), including operating system deployment, software distribution, patch management, compliance reporting, and application lifecycle management.
• Design, build, and maintain Windows device images and deployment methodologies for enterprise endpoints and ATM/TCR platforms.
• Partner with ATM/TCR Engineering on imaging solutions, operating system upgrades, software deployments, hardware refreshes, testing, validation, and rollouts.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for complex endpoint issues involving operating systems, applications, deployment systems, drivers, networking, and hardware.
• Perform root cause analysis, resolve recurring technical problems, and collaborate with support teams and vendors.
• Use PowerShell and other automation tools to improve deployment, reporting, engineering, and support processes while creating technical documentation and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Combined minimum of 6 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), including Operating System Deployment, software packaging and deployment, patch management, task sequences, device compliance, and reporting.
• Deep knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and endpoint lifecycle management.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across operating systems, applications, hardware, drivers, networking, and deployment technologies.
• Experience creating and supporting enterprise device images.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across multiple technology teams.
• Experience managing incidents, problem investigations, and root cause analysis efforts.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience in Desktop Engineering, Endpoint Engineering, or Systems Engineering in a medium-to-large enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting ATM/TCR platforms, kiosk devices, retail technology, or other specialized endpoint systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and modern device management technologies.
• Familiarity with endpoint security controls and enterprise device compliance requirements.
• Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar IT service management platforms.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint security practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
