Senior Android Software Engineer (IoT)

What you will do

• Own the Android IoT application end to end, including architecture, implementation, feature delivery, code quality, maintainability, and device and OS-level behavior.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend, QA, support, and client counterpart teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, crashes, incidents, and production issues through debugging, diagnosis, service restoration, and root cause analysis.
• Support release preparation, deployment, rollout, and post-release validation.
• Improve code quality, maintainability, test coverage, technical debt, and operational feedback through reviews and architecture discussions.
• Maintain technical documentation, decision records, runbooks, onboarding materials, engineering practices, and secure SDLC practices while contributing to uptime, stability, latency, security, and incident-response targets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Android application development with Kotlin and Firebase.
• Experience in Android IoT fleet management, including FOTA rollouts, monitoring, OS firmware validation, and APK rollouts.
• Understanding of incident and problem management, including service restoration, root cause analysis, debugging, and diagnosis.
• Experience with source code and version-control tools such as Git and GitLab.
• Experience with mobile development using Flutter.
• Ability to collaborate with functional and technical roles and drive discovery sessions with client counterparts.
• Regular use of AI tools to improve productivity, automate or reduce repetitive work, support decision-making, and deliver higher-quality outcomes; ability to structure effective prompts, validate outputs critically, understand limitations, and own final results.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Android operating-system knowledge, such as boot sequences, updates, MCU, and recovery.
• Native experience with Flutter, Swift, or C++.
• Experience with IoT mobile applications, device pairing, diagnostics, and connectivity.
• Understanding of Android firmware and app rollout concepts, canary releases, rollback strategies, and device fleet operations.
• Familiarity with AWS-backed systems or serverless architectures.
• Experience with AI-augmented development practices.
• Experience with solutions in the manufacturing or agricultural sectors.
