Senior Android Developer (Fintech)

Location: Remote from Serbia

What you will do

• Design and build Android features for company accounts, multi-account cash flow management, banking transactions, payments, and physical and virtual card issuance, activation, and control.
• Develop AI-powered accounting automation features used by business owners across Europe.
• Build polished, responsive user interfaces with Jetpack Compose and maintain code quality, performance, stability, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Own end-to-end solutions in collaboration with Backend, QA, Design, and Product.
• Drive technical decisions, challenge assumptions, identify product and engineering improvements, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and mobile best practices.
• Mentor engineers within a cross-functional domain team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial Android development experience and a proven track record of shipping products.
• Strong Kotlin knowledge; Java knowledge is optional.
• Deep understanding of OOP, SOLID, and Clean Architecture.
• Solid experience with MVI, MVVM, and MVP presentation patterns, including choosing the appropriate pattern for the context.
• Hands-on experience with reactive programming and asynchronous development using RxJava and Kotlin Coroutines/Flow.
• Experience with dependency injection using Dagger 2, Hilt, or Koin; networking with Retrofit; navigation with Cicerone or Jetpack Navigation Component; and modern UI with Jetpack Compose.
• Practical experience with Firebase, including FCM, Analytics, and Crashlytics.
• Production experience with feature-module architecture.
• Confidence with Git/GitLab, including setting up and maintaining GitLab CI/CD.
• Clear, concise English communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• A product-builder mindset focused on users and outcomes.

Nice to have

• Fintech or financial product experience.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices.
• Experience profiling and optimizing UI performance, including reducing overdraw, improving Jetpack Compose recomposition efficiency, and achieving smooth 60/120fps rendering.
• Experience with Android Profiler, Perfetto, Baseline Profiles, or similar tools.
• Published Google Play apps and an active GitHub profile with shareable code.
• Experience with AI agents, LLM tools, and AI-powered IDE tools, including agent environments, prompts, skills, behavioral rules, agent mode, rules-file configuration, and daily workflow integration.
• Understanding of model capabilities and limitations, including selecting models for tasks and managing context windows.
• Ability to evaluate and verify AI-generated output with automated tests, linters, and critical review.
• Awareness of AI security risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, and safe handling of untrusted inputs in agentic workflows.
