Principal Engineer (Etch)

What you will do

• Develop and modify etch process formulations, methods, tool controls, and recipes for semiconductor fabrication technology nodes.
• Analyze process data and charts, focusing on non-uniformity, defectivity, removal-rate stability, and process monitoring.
• Establish and maintain etch-module SOPs and FMEAs, and integrate equipment capabilities and material systems with process and technology specifications.
• Lead continuous improvement plans, cross-functional initiatives, benchmarking, and collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior etch engineers as a subject matter expert.
• Solve complex and novel technical problems, implement process improvements, and contribute to etch-related patents, conferences, and journal publications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in the wafer fabrication industry with a strong focus on etch.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good analytical and project management skills.
• Organized and systematic problem-solving approach, with familiarity with SPC, DOE, and FMEA.
