Software Developer in Test II (TypeScript)

What you will do

• Design, implement, execute, and maintain automated tests for platform features and own automation coverage within the squad.
• Create, review, and stabilize automation scripts; investigate failures, debug daily runs, and reduce flaky tests and noisy signals.
• Expand testing across the pyramid, including unit, API contract, integration, and end-to-end testing, while converting manual tests to automation.
• Perform root-cause analysis using logs, browser developer tools, API calls, and data inspection; reproduce production defects and support hotfix rollouts.
• Challenge acceptance criteria, estimate automation effort, create reproducible Jira tickets, and contribute to code reviews and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with Development, Product, UX, Documentation, and DevOps; mentor SDET I and co-op members, evaluate AI testing capabilities, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in quality engineering teams, ideally in a modern SaaS or platform organization within a cloud-native AWS environment.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS; Java and JavaScript depending on the platform.
• Core automation experience and understanding of web application and microservices testing frameworks and tools, with in-depth Cypress and TypeScript knowledge or the willingness to develop it quickly.
• Knowledge of testing strategies and tools across the testing pyramid, including unit, end-to-end, API contract, and integration testing with Pact and K6.
• Understanding of cloud, microservice, and third-party-integration architectures and databases.
• Extensive knowledge of Git and its use for managing test artifacts.
• Working knowledge of GitHub Actions or Jenkins and experience working with DevOps to build and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with observability tooling and practices that improve test signals and pipeline feedback loops.
• Experience in a fast-paced agile environment with changing priorities, plus strong communication, time management, interpersonal, team-building, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Practical interest in AI-powered testing tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude, with judgement about where they are effective.

Nice to have

• Experience testing Angular or AngularJS applications with Cypress-class frameworks.
• Experience with IntelliJ.
• Working knowledge of the accounting, auditing, or financial domain.
