MortgageTech Client #1 | QA Engineer (Manual & Automation) (Fintech)

Location: Remote, based in Europe, with regular availability to overlap with US afternoon hours. Warsaw, PL is listed as the job location.

A direct marketplace for whole-loan mortgage transactions that provides lenders and investors with pricing, automated eligibility assessment, and end-to-end transaction management. The R&D team is based in Israel and works closely with colleagues in the US.

What you will do

• Perform exploratory testing of multi-role mortgage workflows covering pricing, eligibility, and documents.
• Build and own Playwright with TypeScript end-to-end and API test suites running in GitHub Actions.
• Maintain reliable, fast regression coverage by fixing flaky tests and maintaining selectors and test data.
• Own QA release activities, including the QA board, test plans, regression testing, and go/no-go decisions before deployments.
• Investigate production issues with Sentry, Datadog, and PostHog, reproduce defects, and create actionable developer tickets.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of QA experience with recent hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Hands-on test automation experience with Playwright in TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience with Git and CI, including GitHub Actions or a similar tool.
• API testing experience with Postman, pytest, or similar tools, plus solid SQL skills for database verification.
• Strong ability to identify business-logic edge cases involving states, roles, calculations, and partially completed flows.
• Understanding of financial-company operations, including money flows, compliance, and the impact of errors.
• Ability to write clear test plans, test cases, and actionable bug reports.
• Daily use of AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar for writing tests, generating data, and finding gaps.
• Proven remote-work experience with a writing-first communication style.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Based in Europe and regularly available to overlap with US afternoon hours.

Nice to have

• US mortgage industry experience.
• Experience building QA from scratch, including test strategy, coverage, and regression scope managed in Jira and Confluence.
• Performance testing experience with k6.
• Basic security testing knowledge.
• Python.
