QA Engineer (Agentic Development)

Location: Remote within Canada; occasional travel for company-wide or departmental meetings, typically 1–2 times per year.

Base salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, internal pay equity, and the company’s pay philosophy.

What you will do

• Define acceptance criteria, testability, and quality standards with product and engineering before implementation begins.
• Design and own automated QA workflows for agentic delivery, including triage, test generation, execution reporting, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Review AI-generated tests and code for correctness, gaps, and false confidence.
• Build and maintain end-to-end and API automation with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Investigate edge cases, failure paths, data integrity, security, performance, and cross-system behavior using risk-based testing.
• Track quality metrics, triage failures, identify root causes, and improve test architecture, data, environments, and team practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA, SDET, or software engineering with a quality focus.
• 3–5 years of hands-on Playwright automation with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience shaping QA practices for a product, startup, scale-up, or new product team.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and agentic tools in real delivery workflows, with the ability to identify where human judgment is required.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD test pipelines and critically evaluating code.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, test strategy, risk-based planning, the test pyramid, and regression scope.

Nice to have

• Experience with structured agentic development methodologies.
• Experience designing evaluations or quality metrics for LLM- or agent-based systems.
• Experience reducing test-suite bloat or flakiness in large automation codebases.
• Experience with Postman, RestAssured, contract testing, Jira automation, or test case management systems.
