Classification Specialist (Export Control)

Location: Dongtan, South Korea; the role is based in South Korea and works during regular business hours, with occasional evening or weekend standby duty.

hirify.global develops semiconductor manufacturing equipment and operates a centralized global classification function across the Netherlands, the United States, and South Korea.

What you will do

• Perform customs and export control classifications and determine country of origin for preferential and non-preferential purposes.
• Handle Sanctioned Parties List and Legal Control screening blocks in SAP GTS and Oracle GTM.
• Maintain and improve the master classification database.
• Act as the point of contact for classification questions from authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Support business projects, including implementation of a new ERP system.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including robotization opportunities.

Requirements

• Licensed customs broker with the Korean broker exam and/or at least 3 years of relevant technical experience in Customs and Export Controls classification within a multinational company, law firm, technology company, or consulting company.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
• Strong drive and a hands-on, structured, accurate, and results-oriented working style.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural, dynamic, changing, and complex environment.
• Good time management skills and the ability to manage tight deadlines.
• Ownership of issues from start to finish, attention to detail, proactivity, and collaborative work within a high-performance team.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Legal authorization to access controlled technology under the United States Export Administration Regulations before starting work.

Nice to have

• Technical background, preferably a degree in physics or engineering.
• Knowledge and experience with SAP ECC and SAP GTS.
• Technical background combined with the ambition to learn customs and export control classification rules and regulations.
