What you will do

• Provide legal coverage for Singapore branch implementation and expansion into primary dealer activities for Singapore government bonds and PWM deposit-taking.
• Advise on Singapore regulatory requirements, rule interpretation, branch obligations, and controls in collaboration with product legal teams and international legal stakeholders.
• Support branch governance through legal and regulatory updates to the Branch Manager and Branch Management Forum.
• Monitor Singapore legal and regulatory developments affecting the branch and advise on their impact.
• Maintain and update legal agreement templates, including MAS account terms, outsourcing side letters, and vendor contract addenda.
• Provide legal support for funding and liquidity matters, including intercompany lending and related banking and regulatory considerations.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience.
• Relevant post-qualification experience at a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel.
• Strong grounding in Singapore banking law and regulation, financial services regulation, and the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to licensed bank branch entities, including governance and banking activities.
• Working knowledge of fixed income or equities products.

Nice to have

• Mandarin language skills to support legal advisory work, review and negotiation of legal documentation, and engagement with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders across Greater China.
• Ability to analyse regulatory materials, contractual documentation, and business communications in Chinese and coordinate with stakeholders where Mandarin is the primary working language.
