Senior Product Engineer (HVACR)

What you will do

• Develop new products, schedules, and test plans to meet safety, quality, performance, economic, and industry standards.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and create plans to qualify and implement design changes.
• Collaborate with designers and Design Engineers on tolerance stack-ups, fit, alignment, design intent, and component geometry.
• Coordinate weekly NPD reviews, prepare presentations, and complete NPD documentation such as model release forms and coefficient sheets.
• Establish and verify design development processes, follow prototype preparation, and review performance and reliability test results.
• Support engineering laboratories, manufacturing facilities, supplier quality, procurement, manufacturing functions, and reliability qualification activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or Thermal and Power Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of mechanical product development experience with a BS degree, or 5 years with an MS degree.
• Proven understanding of refrigeration systems and compressors.
• Problem-solving and project-management skills.
• Familiarity with design analysis, design of experiments, FMEA, and lean concepts.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and typical assembly and fabrication methods, including current manufacturing practices.
• PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications for presentations, report compilation, and computational spreadsheets.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of compressors or HVAC systems.
