Senior Software Development Engineer (Contract Position)

Location: Hybrid, with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work; primary location in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. This 3-year contract position is not eligible for hirify.global immigration sponsorship.

Annual salary: $52,000–$200,000 USD, with individual pay determined by work location, skills, experience, education, and training.

What you will do

• Lead technical solution design, architecture discussions, implementation strategies, and development across complex business initiatives.
• Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, customers, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Coordinate execution across multiple projects and global engineering teams while driving delivery from concept through implementation and operational support.
• Guide system modernization, cloud migration, AI integration, platform scalability, analytics, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to technical roadmaps, capacity planning, release management, and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications and platforms.
• Strong hands-on software development experience with modern technologies such as C#, .NET, React, TypeScript, Python, or similar.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Experience bridging business and development teams by creating user stories, process flows, and implementation roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, and modern development practices, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers and architects.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving solution delivery from concept through implementation.
• Strong technical leadership, ownership, problem-solving, critical-thinking, customer-focus, communication, self-motivation, and results-oriented skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience designing enterprise-scale software platforms, APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and cloud-native solutions.
• Experience with AI-enabled applications, Generative AI, LLM integrations, AI agents, machine learning platforms, and data-driven solutions.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, GitHub, Azure DevOps, containerization, and cloud platforms.
• Experience translating complex business requirements into technical architectures, solution designs, and implementation roadmaps while collaborating with business and engineering stakeholders.
• Experience with analytics platforms, cybersecurity best practices, and large-scale digital transformation in construction, manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial environments.
