Project Manager - FIFO to Tasmania (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; based in or willing to relocate to Tasmania, with regular travel to the Launceston site. The role requires either relocation to Tasmania for approximately 6 months with a full relocation package or weekly fly-in fly-out arrangements to Tasmania for approximately 6 months.

What you will do

• Deliver the Launceston capital project from gateway approval through planning, design, procurement, construction, fit-out, commissioning, deployment, and handover.
• Run day-to-day site delivery, coordinating trades, consultants, contractors, vendors, authorities, utilities, and internal development, engineering, energy, and operations functions.
• Own programme and cost control, including critical path, milestones, commitments, invoicing, variations, contingency, forecasting, reporting, risks, and project records.
• Coordinate design development and manage technical queries, requests for information, changes, approvals, drawings, cost reports, and programme updates.
• Administer contracts and manage consultants, head contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors against cost, quality, safety, and programme requirements.
• Coordinate acceptance testing, readiness, defects, close-out, handover documentation, operator training, and the transition to the operations team.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of experience delivering capital projects, ideally in data centres, mission-critical, energy, or industrial infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience running an on-site project from design and procurement through construction and commissioning to handover.
• Strong programme and cost control experience, including scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting, variations, and change control.
• Sound contract administration capability across construction management, design and construct, or traditional delivery models.
• Practical working knowledge of work health and safety obligations and quality management on an active construction site.
• Experience coordinating consultants, head contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to a single programme.
• Experience with planning approvals, authority conditions, and utility or network connections.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including concise project reporting to senior leadership.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Tasmania, with regular travel to site.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with high-density compute environments and liquid or immersion cooling systems.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
