Morning News Spring Semester Intern (Broadcast Journalism)

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; interns must work between 3:30 AM and 11:30 AM and have reliable transportation.

What you will do

• Research and write stories for the morning broadcast and contact sources for additional information when needed.
• Work with producers, anchors, and reporters in the station and in the field.
• Post content on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter during the show.
• Manage guests before, during, and after their broadcast segments.
• Learn camera equipment, relevant camera shots, interview coordination, and press-conference coverage.
• Shadow control-room producers and potentially produce part of the show; students interested in on-air work may receive help creating a reel.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in and taking classes at a college or university.
• Currently in the junior or senior year of study.
• Available to work any time between 3:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
• Reliable transportation required.
