Senior Manager, Autonomy

What you will do

• Lead teams across autonomy, integration, and testing, aligning technical execution and resolving cross-functional challenges.
• Lead the team advancing Hivemind and shaping autonomy architectures for aircraft ranging from small UxS to large autonomous collaborative platforms.
• Define technical objectives, assign work, make engineering decisions, and ensure the quality and completeness of technical deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership across Internal Research and Development initiatives and government defense contracts.
• Support system architecture, design, development, risk mitigation, product quality, and customer-facing technical communication.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience in autonomy and/or UxS platforms, such as defense technology or autonomous vehicles.
• 7+ years delivering software into high-reliability production or certifiable environments.
• 2+ years managing technical teams and proven leadership of teams of 6–20 engineers.
• Deep proficiency in C++.
• Understanding of guidance, navigation and control, including controls, estimation, and planning, and of the full robotics stack, including perception, estimation, planning, and controls.
• Understanding of software development processes and effective software deployment.
• Experience defining technical scope and managing technical requirements, product architectures, interface control documents, and other system-level design documentation.
• Structured, scientific problem-solving skills; experience as a customer-facing engineering leader supporting defense and internally funded development programs; and experience contributing to government contract proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
