Investment Banking Vice President (Consumer Retail)

Location: New York, NY, United States; office-based position

Salary: USD 155,000–300,000 base salary per year, plus potential discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Develop Consumer Retail client relationships and act as a primary day-to-day contact and strategic advisor.
• Lead complex buy-side and sell-side M&A, debt financing, and equity financing transactions from origination through closing.
• Translate financial, valuation, and industry analyses into strategic recommendations, transaction materials, and client presentations.
• Coordinate bankers, attorneys, tax advisors, and other internal and external stakeholders, while overseeing due diligence and transaction documentation negotiations.
• Manage deal teams and workflows to ensure high-quality and timely execution.
• Mentor, train, and develop Analysts and Associates while contributing to client coverage, business development, and franchise growth.

Requirements

• Minimum four years of investment banking experience with a master’s degree, or seven years of investment banking or equivalent experience with a bachelor’s degree.
• Outstanding academic and professional achievement.
• Strong track record executing buy-side and sell-side M&A, equity, and debt financing transactions in an investment banking advisory role.
• At least two years of experience leading deal teams of Analysts and Associates.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present complex information clearly and effectively and build trusted relationships with clients, senior stakeholders, and deal teams.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing and developing junior professionals.
• Personal integrity, sound judgment, initiative, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively across groups and regions.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the Consumer Retail sector, including Food and Beverage, Retail and Apparel, Restaurants, Consumer Services, or Consumer Technology.
