Investment Banking Associate I (Leveraged Finance & Debt Advisory)

What you will do

• Execute live leveraged finance and debt advisory transactions from mandate through close.
• Lead borrower credit analysis, due diligence, underwriting, and assessment of credit quality and market receptivity.
• Review and stress-test LBO, three-statement, cash flow, debt schedule, capitalization, and credit models.
• Prepare internal screening and underwriting memoranda and oversee client-facing pitch and marketing materials.
• Coordinate with clients, financial sponsors, lenders, senior bankers, and other industry and product groups.
• Mentor, train, and review the work of analysts and summer analysts.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in leveraged finance, debt capital markets, private credit/direct lending, restructuring, or leveraged finance credit risk, or an MBA with relevant pre-MBA experience.
• Advanced proficiency in LBO, three-statement, debt schedule, and financial modeling, including reviewing and correcting others’ work.
• Working knowledge of credit agreement mechanics and debt structuring alternatives across the capital structure.
• Ability to manage multiple live workstreams and junior team members under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients and lenders.
• Bachelor’s degree required; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
