Telecom System Engineer (RF/IP Networks)

Location: Newport Beach, California, United States; based in Southern California with field and customer-site work, including overnight assignments and 24/7 shifts.

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Perform first- and second-level maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming of radio units, RF infrastructure, and IP networks across assigned 24/7 shifts.
• Manage end-to-end incident lifecycles, RMA logistics, factory repair follow-ups, and coordination with teams in France and domestic partners.
• Administer Windows and Linux endpoint control nodes, software updates, and Cisco or equivalent network devices.
• Operate 4x4 vehicles in challenging field environments, including low-visibility conditions with night vision equipment.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, police, military, defense customers, international R&D teams, and domestic partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, IT, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IT, telecom systems, or RF infrastructure; LMR/LTE experience is preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong technical background in Windows/Linux operating systems, Cisco routing and switching, electronics theory, and field documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
• Ability to work in challenging field conditions and overnight assignments, including extreme heat, high winds, high elevations, mountaintops, towers, and helicopter-access sites.
• Ability to drive 4x4 vehicles in low-visibility conditions using night vision equipment.
• Visual acuity to read technical documents, screens, and schematics and distinguish color-coded components and wiring.
• Adequate hearing and clear speech for meetings, conversations, operational alarms, and teleconferences; proficiency with office equipment and specialized technical field tools.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
• Must be eligible for unescorted access to U.S. military facilities.
