Systems Engineer III (Linux/Windows)

Location: Rome, New York, United States; must live within the local area. Flexible for occasional telework, with 25%–50% travel to customer locations worldwide.

Projected annual compensation: $88,874.63–$153,517.58.

What you will do

• Coordinate customer-site installation activities and travel to install and configure cross-domain systems.
• Integrate systems with email, file, time, PKI, continuous monitoring, VM, and KVM infrastructure.
• Engage with product development teams to track new security and functional features in upcoming releases.
• Maintain engineering environment systems and networks for installation planning, customer training, and Help Desk operations.
• Perform functional testing, installation prototyping, customer technical support, training, and hardware staging.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field with 5–7 years of experience; MS with 3–5 years or PhD with 0–2 years.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Microsoft Windows, desktop applications, computer networking, and virtual machine technologies.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance.
• Ability to obtain DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, desktop applications, networking and protocols, virtual machine technologies, Bash, XML technologies and tools, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.
• Basic knowledge of Security-Enhanced Linux.
• Experience with system integration, network troubleshooting, system troubleshooting, and regular expressions.
• Familiarity with multi-level secure system architectures and system approval processes.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, or active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
• Active DOD 870 IAT Level II certification or higher.
