Senior F5 Network Engineer

Location: Hybrid role based in Lafayette, LA; Knoxville, TN; Columbia, SC; or Birmingham, AL, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Compensation: $101,000 annually.

What you will do

• Serve as a senior F5 BIG-IP subject matter expert for LTM and GTM/DNS engineering.
• Manage enterprise F5 configurations, including virtual servers, pools, monitors, profiles, SSL/TLS, persistence, high availability, and failover.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents involving load balancing, DNS, network connectivity, performance, and availability.
• Support F5 migrations, hardware replacements, upgrades, patching, security hardening, and lifecycle management.
• Automate F5 configuration and provisioning with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Support Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco networking, hybrid data center and AWS environments, documentation, technical implementations, and engineer mentoring.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of F5 BIG-IP experience, including deep hands-on experience with F5 LTM and GTM/DNS in large enterprise production environments.
• Experience with F5 virtual and physical deployments, migrations, upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, performance, resiliency, and security hardening.
• Experience troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls and intermediate Cisco routing and switching.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, SSL/TLS, firewalls, load balancing, high availability, and traffic distribution.
• Experience as a senior or L3 escalation point, with strong root cause analysis, technical documentation, communication, and implementation leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, network engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, automated provisioning, or Ansible experience.
• AWS networking and CloudFront experience, including hybrid data center and cloud environments.
• F5 ASM/WAF, Azure, GCP, ServiceNow, Jira, or relevant F5, Palo Alto, Cisco, AWS, or Terraform certifications.
