Project Engineer (Network Infrastructure)

Location: Remote within the United States; travel for project work at least once a month and regular nights and weekends required for off-hours upgrades and migrations.

Salary: $85,000–$120,000 annual compensation, plus potential bonus or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and deploy infrastructure for new offices, office relocations, network refreshes, and cutovers.
• Install and configure firewalls, managed switches, wireless access points, and related hardware.
• Implement VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing, firewall policies, VPNs, SD-WAN, and ISP failover.
• Coordinate with project managers, ISPs, cabling contractors, and third-party vendors.
• Troubleshoot routing, connectivity, wireless, and performance issues.
• Create network diagrams, IP plans, configuration records, project updates, and handoff documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant IT infrastructure experience with hands-on network deployments.
• Hands-on expertise with Fortinet FortiGate, Meraki firewalls, Cisco, Meraki, UniFi and Fortinet switching, and Meraki, Aruba and UniFi wireless.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, and routing.
• Experience with office deployments, rack-and-stack work, network refreshes, and cutovers.
• Ability to independently execute network infrastructure projects and own technical tasks through completion.
• Working familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure networking, storage, and backup platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Synology, Dell EMC, or Veeam storage and backup platforms.
• Ability to contribute across adjacent networking, cloud, infrastructure, security, and identity disciplines.
