Software Engineering Intern (Fintech)

Location: New York City (hybrid); remote work is welcomed, or candidates may report to work in NYC. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base pay: $75,000–$110,000, depending on location and experience.

hirify.global is an early-stage fintech and cybersecurity company developing DoubleCheck, a B2B payment verification platform that combines authentication, proprietary technology, AI, and UX to verify the safe transfer of financial information and assets.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own new modules for the DoubleCheck platform, including payments, reputation, and authentication features.
• Write software with attention to bug prevention, testability, and maintainability.
• Design and deploy sophisticated, reliable, and scalable web applications.
• Develop authentication flows and secure APIs.
• Use data-driven approaches to inform product and software design.
• Collaborate closely with the core and leadership teams while contributing to software development practices.

Requirements

• Experience with software testing tools and demonstrating that code works.
• Curiosity and interest in teaching and learning from colleagues.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Expected undergraduate graduation in December 2027, any time in 2028, or spring 2029.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science, math, physics, or electrical engineering.
• Internship or co-op experience designing, building, and deploying sophisticated web applications.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks, web standards, and web development best practices.
• Detailed understanding of data model design for relational databases.
• Experience using cloud infrastructure to deploy reliable and scalable web applications.
• Experience building authentication flows and/or implementing secure APIs.
• Experience building or using tools for data analysis, performance profiling, and debugging.
