Fullstack Engineer (Backend/Python)

Location: Remote across Europe, Ireland, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States; flexibility for exceptional candidates elsewhere. Remote work is available, with offices in Dublin, London, New York, San Francisco, and Warsaw.

What you will do

• Build and maintain accurate usage tracking and metering without impacting latency.
• Lead the migration of enterprise pricing and usage processing, including new stream-processing services for usage events.
• Improve customer upgrades and payments across different entities and payment providers.
• Work with Finance and Tax on compliance, audit, and reporting requirements.
• Enable pricing and Growth experiments with Growth and product teams.
• Debug complex customer billing scenarios using customer experience data, logs, and code, then fix the underlying causes while planning migrations and rolling out changes safely.

Requirements

• Expertise in Python.
• Strong background in backend development.
• Experience with common software and system design patterns and infrastructure, including APIs, cloud infrastructure tools, storage solutions, and data structures.
• Strong test design and security fundamentals.
• Care and attention to detail when changing live systems that handle money.
• Ability to learn a large existing system quickly and debug complex production issues.
• Ability to demonstrate impressively hard problems solved through past projects or GitHub contributions; formal experience, certifications, and degrees are not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment processing providers or billing and usage-based pricing systems.
• Experience with stream processing or high-throughput event pipelines.
• Experience working with finance, tax, or audit requirements.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
