Software Engineer I, Fullstack (Search)

Location: Remote within the United States; Remote Canada is also listed as an available location. Most roles can be performed remotely within the country of employment, with occasional in-person office work possible and an in-person onboarding experience for new hires.

Base pay: $130,000–$180,000 per year in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT; $115,000–$165,000 per year in other U.S. states.

What you will do

• Contribute to search-related projects supporting the shopping marketplace and Ads business.
• Design, develop, and launch backend systems at scale with team support.
• Translate business scenarios into solutions spanning multiple software components.
• Write clear, well-tested, extensible code and balance delivery speed with system reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, communicate risks and trade-offs, and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to team growth and development activities.

Requirements

• Previous work or internship experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to work effectively in a large codebase, debug existing code, and provide constructive code review feedback.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
• Equivalent practical experience or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
