Datapath Team Leader (C/C++)

Location: Hybrid, Herzliya, Israel; work from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Lead a team of 5 senior engineers, including professional growth, execution quality, hiring, and training.
• Design, develop, and enhance I/O subsystems, virtualization, kernel programming, and memory management for system software products.
• Optimize performance and memory usage, troubleshoot complex I/O and kernel features, and improve scalability and reliability.
• Debug, triage, profile, and resolve user-level and kernel-level memory and performance issues.
• Develop solutions for virtualization, multithreading, hardware-software interaction, and complex Datapath and kernel challenges.
• Provide technical leadership in architecture, design reviews, problem-solving, and cross-functional decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of product R&D experience in the computer/system software industry, focused on kernel and driver development.
• Hands-on experience with I/O subsystems, programming, and kernel development.
• Expertise in C and C++.
• Strong understanding of operating-system internals, kernel and driver internals, memory management, threading, and resource scheduling.
• Expertise in debugging, kernel triaging, and resolving memory- and performance-related issues.
• Experience with performance profiling, multithreading, and driver programming.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and virtualization technologies including VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM.
• Leadership, communication, project management, agile methodology, innovation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a relevant domain.
