SW Embedded Test Engineer

Location: Onsite at an HPE office in Spring, Texas, or Fort Collins, Colorado, United States.

Salary: USD 95,000–218,500 annual base salary in the United States; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Collaborate with embedded system software developers to define test plans and ensure comprehensive coverage of new functionality.
• Design, implement, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests, test cases, protocols, and documentation.
• Analyze system designs and determine required coding, programming, integration, and testing activities.
• Identify, debug, validate, and resolve software issues, recommending code and process improvements.
• Collaborate with software systems engineers and internal or outsourced development partners on reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Lead or contribute to technical decision-making and continuously improve testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• 2–4 years of experience in embedded software testing and development.
• Proficiency with software systems design tools and programming languages such as Python, C, or Go.
• Experience creating and executing test plans, debugging software, and using testing scripts and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex system-level challenges.
• Experience designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
• Solid understanding of computer system architecture, devices, and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux, device drivers, and related technologies.
• Mastery of English and the local language, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate design proposals, negotiate technical options, and facilitate collaborative solutions.
• Proven leadership abilities in directing team activities and supporting team-based decision processes.
