Software Engineer (SD-WAN/SASE)

Location: Onsite at an HPE office in San Jose, California, United States.

Base salary: USD 108,500–218,500 annual salary in California, United States. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for software application portions and subsystems.
• Develop and deliver SD-WAN/SASE appliance software subsystems and features.
• Analyze designs and perform coding, programming, integration, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Identify code issues and suggest improvements, including performance improvements.
• Collaborate with software engineers and internal and outsourced development partners on reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Communicate design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of development experience.
• Excellent coding skills in C or C++.
• Hands-on Linux experience with a strong understanding of Linux operating system functionality and capabilities.
• Expertise developing real-time multithreaded applications on multi-core platforms.
• Strong software engineering background.
• Good understanding of routing and switching protocols, including OSPF, BGP, and VRRP.
• Solid technical knowledge of networking protocols and applications, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, GRE tunneling, IP Security, and firewalls.
• Strong written and verbal communication, English mastery and local-language mastery, excellent problem-solving skills, a self-motivated approach, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
