Health Safety & Environmental Lead (Automotive)

Location: Lancaster, New York, United States; onsite role supporting both hirify.global locations in Lancaster and Batavia. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Salary: USD 60,000–75,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, standards, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local requirements, including permits, records, reporting, waste handling, storage, and disposal.
• Lead internal and external audits, address non-conformances, conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses, and manage changes.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, manage emergency response planning and drills, and maintain emergency equipment.
• Coordinate HSE training for employees and contractors, manage contractors, lead safety committee meetings, and promote a proactive zero-accident safety culture.
• Track and report safety and sustainability metrics, manage HSE supplies and inventory, coordinate audio testing, and support workers’ compensation cases and insurance-company communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science and HSE certifications are required.
• 5–7 years of experience with health, safety, and environmental management systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Demonstrated experience leading HSE programs or teams.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Leadership presence on the plant floor and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Active listening and coaching skills, with the ability to constructively challenge.
