Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Site-based hybrid role in Carlsbad, California; Tempe, Arizona; or Duluth, Georgia, United States. Employees work at least 3 days (60%+) per week from a hirify.global office or work location. Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to support government-regulated environments.

Salary: $121,000–$191,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $150,000–$225,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Azure Government, AWS, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Administer Windows and Linux platforms, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, SSO, SAML, IAM, Service Principals, Managed Identities, certificates, SSL/TLS, and PKI.
• Support enterprise applications, SQL Server and Oracle environments, databases, and business-critical platforms for high availability, security, and operational excellence.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, security, and availability; respond to incidents, alerts, service requests, and on-call events.
• Collaborate with security, networking, database, application, and business teams to implement compliant solutions and resolve complex technical issues.
• Lead or participate in cloud modernization, migration, automation, digital transformation, documentation, and AI-enabled operational improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Government, AWS, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, IAM, SSO, SAML, Service Principals, and Managed Identities.
• Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting or administering SQL Server and/or Oracle environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and independent-working skills.
• Experience with certificates, SSL/TLS, PKI, security technologies, and scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with NIST, CMMC, ITAR, FedRAMP, SOX, or similar security and compliance frameworks.
• Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, or other AI-enabled automation solutions, with the ability to use AI tools to improve operational efficiency and system management.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to support government-regulated environments.

Nice to have

• Experience spanning Azure, Azure Government, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Knowledge of identity governance, RBAC, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust principles.
• Experience in government, defense, or regulated-industry environments and with enterprise applications or mission-critical production systems.
• Proficiency with Terraform or cloud-native automation tools and experience using AI for troubleshooting, documentation, monitoring, and incident response.
• Relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-500, AI-102, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or similar cloud and security certifications.
• Proactive continuous-improvement mindset, strong collaboration, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
