Software Engineer I (Healthcare Technology)

Location: Remote, United States; office location in Mobile, Alabama

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deliver software features and applications across the complete development lifecycle.
• Create technical documentation, architectural designs, and improvement proposals.
• Analyze and tune application performance, optimize SQL queries, and address scalability and reliability risks.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and contribute to automated testing strategies.
• Support release management, production deployments, monitoring, debugging, and resolution of escalated production issues.
• Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, stakeholder updates, and collaboration with engineering, product, QA, and client services teams.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant industry experience.
• Experience with SQL Server 2019+, SSMS, T-SQL, XML, JSON, XPath, XSL, XSLT, and XPointer.
• Experience with C# and ASP.NET, including MVC, Web Forms, and WebAPI; JavaScript, TypeScript, React, AngularJS, jQuery, and HTML.
• Knowledge of WCF, SOAP, RESTful web services, Entity Framework, and ADO.NET.
• Experience with Visual Studio 2022+, Azure DevOps, Git, TFS, Microsoft Release Management, Docker, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or private cloud environments; object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, and scalable enterprise-grade solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, task-management, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Ability to see and hear clearly with or without aids and to use a computer keyboard and office equipment repetitively.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required; background checks and a drug test are required.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle and electronic claims processing.
• Experience with Telerik, Kendo UI, Bootstrap, Microsoft Office, SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Visio, Copilot, or Continue.
