Software Developer - SmartHub (Angular, Java)

Location: Hybrid from an hirify.global office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Lake Saint Louis, Missouri; or Mandan, North Dakota. Employees must work from an office at least 3 days per week, with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday required in the office, and may work up to 5 days per week from an office.

What you will do

• Design and build responsive web applications for SmartHub.
• Stand up RESTful web services and develop container-driven solutions using Kubernetes and microservices.
• Research, design, and implement new features with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze and resolve moderately complex customer issues and software bugs.
• Write unit and integration tests and follow established software development methodologies.
• Use generative AI tools and prototype intelligent agent-based features that improve user experience or automate workflows.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in software development.
• Proficiency with Angular and TypeScript or GWT.
• Experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Kafka, SSO, or Cassandra.
• Proficiency in responsive content development and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of modern software engineering principles, web architecture, deployment patterns, automated testing methods, test-driven development, and acceptance-criteria validation.
• Experience with Git branching and merging workflows, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
• Bachelor’s degree in a computer science-related field or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience using agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Augment, JetBrains Junie, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or OpenAI Codex.
