Engineering Manager - SRX Security Director

Location: Hybrid in San Juan, Puerto Rico; work from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week. Relocation is provided for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Lead individual contributors designing and developing systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, costs, resources, objectives, timelines, and budgets across multiple ongoing projects.
• Communicate project status and escalate issues to managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
• Manage outsourced partners and suppliers, including expectations for deliverables, quality, schedules, costs, communication, and collaboration.
• Identify process improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
• Hire, coach, evaluate, and support the career development of assigned team members.

Requirements

• First-level university degree or equivalent experience required.
• Typically 5 or more years of related work experience, including 0–2 years of people management experience.
• Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
• Advanced project management skills in time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage human capital across geographies and drive workforce development.
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
• Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge of applications and technologies.
• Mastery of English and the local language, plus a good understanding of company policies and processes.
