Manager - Fire Protection Engineering (Fire Safety)

Location: Houston Metro area, Texas, United States. Must reside in or relocate to the Houston Metro area. In-office role; hybrid and remote arrangements are not intended.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of 4–8 technical contributors, project managers, and other staff.
• Promote an inclusive, positive team culture, employee engagement, work-life balance, and career development.
• Maintain client and colleague relationships while delivering quality work on time and within budget.
• Support client communication, local society meetings, and business development activities; prior business development experience is not required.
• Implement and improve business processes and maintain high standards of technical quality, honesty, and integrity.
• Recruit, retain, train, coach, and mentor staff in technical, project management, and business development skills.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in technical consulting work and a demonstrated successful history of developing and cultivating client relationships.
• Well-rounded working knowledge of fire protection engineering fundamentals.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must reside in or be able to relocate to the Houston Metro area and work in the office.

Nice to have

• Professional designation, such as a Professional Engineering License.
• Prior business development experience.
