Senior Technical Solutions Architect (AI)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; remote-friendly with periodic travel to client sites and internal events estimated at 0–15%.

Base pay: $123,760–$154,700 annually plus 30% target incentives.

What you will do

• Architect sovereign and on-premise AI solutions using NVIDIA AI Enterprise, Dell AI Factory, HPE Private Cloud AI, Red Hat OpenShift AI, Run:ai, vLLM, TGI, and Ollama.
• Design end-to-end Generative AI and agentic AI solutions, including RAG, CAG, GraphRAG, fine-tuning, model distillation, tool-using agents, multi-agent orchestration, and MCP integrations.
• Design hybrid architectures across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud AI platforms.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, decision frameworks, and trade-off analyses covering cost, latency, accuracy, governance, and sovereignty.
• Lead executive briefings and technical design sessions, scope statements of work, estimate effort, and support delivery risk management.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and consultants through code reviews, enablement, reusable assets, and evaluation of emerging AI models, frameworks, protocols, and sovereign AI stacks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, solutions or enterprise architecture, or applied AI/ML, including at least 2+ years in a hands-on Generative AI or agentic AI role.
• Professional fluency in French and English, written and spoken, for client workshops, executive presentations, and technical documentation.
• Experience designing sovereign or on-premise AI solutions with private model serving, enterprise AI platforms, and on-premise vector or graph stores.
• Understanding of GPU architecture and capacity planning, inference optimization, high-performance networking and storage, and Kubernetes-based GPU scheduling.
• Understanding of data sovereignty controls, including data residency, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, GDPR, air-gapped deployments, and disconnected deployments.
• Deep knowledge of at least one major hyperscaler AI platform—AWS, Azure, or GCP—and working knowledge of the other two.
• Production experience designing and shipping RAG and/or agentic systems, including chunking, embedding model selection, retrieval evaluation, and orchestration patterns.
• Working knowledge of MCP and modern agent-tool integration patterns, including the ability to design MCP servers and clients and assess MCP against alternatives.
• Strong understanding of CAG, RAG variants, and their trade-offs.
• Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs, Kafka or EventBridge event streams, OIDC, SAML, OAuth2, and enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric, or BigQuery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to move between executive narratives and engineering whiteboards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
