AI Security Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $80,000–$105,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls for AI and machine learning systems.
• Develop threat models and conduct security architecture reviews for AI-powered applications and infrastructure.
• Build incident response capabilities addressing prompt injection, model abuse, data exfiltration, and supply chain risks.
• Protect LLMs, model APIs, training data pipelines, and AI application environments.
• Apply security engineering practices across application security, identity, cryptography, and cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States; eligible candidates include U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and H-1B transfer candidates.
• New H-1B visa sponsorship is not available.
• Six or more years of security engineering experience, including significant work with AI or ML systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of LLM internals, modern AI architectures, application security, identity, cryptography, cloud security, and infrastructure controls.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one systems language, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Publications, talks, or CTF participation in AI security.
• Experience red-teaming LLM-based products.
• Knowledge of differential privacy and other privacy-preserving machine learning techniques.
• Experience in regulated industries or contributing to open-source AI security tooling.
