Sr. Assoc, System Administration (Windows/Linux)

Location: Clifton, New Jersey, US; onsite. The schedule is 9/80, with every other Friday off. Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance is required; security clearances may only be granted to US citizens.

Salary: $70,500–$130,500 per year.

What you will do

• Provide enterprise systems administration, configuration management, software packaging, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting for secure program areas.
• Install and upgrade Windows and Linux applications and operating systems, apply patches and remediation, and update security tools, drivers, software, and firmware.
• Perform Windows desktop and server imaging, desktop provisioning, software installation, infrastructure maintenance, and end-user support.
• Automate Microsoft Windows client installations and deploy automation tools.
• Configure and maintain Commvault, perform system backups, and administer backup operations.
• Manage Microsoft Security, Group Policy, Active Directory, ServiceNow incidents and requests, and IT management tools; prepare operational plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related experience with Windows client and/or server systems; or a graduate degree/equivalent with 0–2 years of related experience; or at least 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 1–2 years of experience with complex troubleshooting of Windows client and/or server systems.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, specifically Red Hat.
• Experience or demonstrated ability in desktop administration and monitoring, Windows imaging, software installation, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
• Understanding of networking concepts, Microsoft Security, Group Policy, Active Directory, backup administration, and IT management tools.
• Skills with PowerShell, batch, and VBScript.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to communicate plans and progress to management and write concise procedures.
• Ability to work independently and perform required duties.
• Ability to frequently move or transport materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Security+ or higher certification, or the ability to attain one within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework process under DAAPM.
• Experience with Commvault data backup software.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the DoD engineering and program community.
