Senior Corporate Counsel (AI)

Location: Hybrid work from Washington D.C., Boston, or the Bay Area, with 2 work-from-home days per week.

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and structure customer, vendor, partnership, SaaS, utility, interconnection, and energy services agreements.
• Support commercial and strategic transactions across the data center and energy ecosystem.
• Develop contracting templates, playbooks, and internal legal processes that improve speed and consistency.
• Advise product, engineering, and commercial teams on product, data usage, privacy, intellectual property, legal, and regulatory matters.
• Partner with business, technical, and executive teams to identify risks and provide pragmatic recommendations.
• Assist with corporate governance, entity management, and internal policies while reporting to the Head of Legal and Policy.

Requirements

• JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 6–10 years of legal experience. Experience spanning both a leading law firm and an in-house legal team is strongly preferred.
• Deep experience drafting, negotiating, and structuring commercial agreements, including complex and strategic transactions.
• Hands-on experience with data center transactions or the broader data center ecosystem, including work at or advising data center operators, neoclouds, hyperscalers, energy technology companies, or related businesses.
• Experience working cross-functionally with business, technical, and executive teams.
• Strong business judgment and the ability to assess legal and commercial risk, make pragmatic recommendations, and help teams reach decisions effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility, interconnection, energy services, or other energy-related agreements.
• Experience with energy technology, AI/ML, cloud, or infrastructure-related companies.
• Exposure to regulated industries such as energy.
