What you will do
Own mechanical and plumbing owner-furnished, contractor-installed (OFCI) packages from demand forecasts, RFPs, bid leveling, award recommendations, and purchase orders through delivery and post-award changes.
Provide technical, design, equipment-cost, lead-time, escalation, and budget input for HVAC, plumbing, heat rejection, liquid cooling, fire protection, BMS controls, water treatment, and generator fuel systems.
Coordinate submittals, shop drawings, production slots, expediting, logistics, required-on-site dates, and delivery windows across multiple sites and schedules.
Define and lead factory witness, factory acceptance, first-of-kind, and first-article testing for chillers, dry coolers, CDUs, CRAHs, fan walls, air handlers, pumps, skids, and modular plants.
Lead OEM and vendor research, new-technology evaluation, product qualification, dual-sourcing, modular plant pilots, and first-of-kind testing.
Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Construction, Operations, design teams, commissioning agents, OEMs, and tenant technical teams while building trackers, templates, test protocols, qualification criteria, and turnover processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
8–10 years of experience in mechanical equipment engineering, procurement engineering, MEP construction, OEM application or project engineering, or owner-side capital delivery, including at least 5 years supporting data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
Hands-on experience running RFPs and technical and commercial bid leveling for mission-critical mechanical systems, including cooling plants, air handling systems, pumps, heat rejection equipment, piping, valves, controls, and redundancy configurations.
Experience coordinating equipment submittals with an Engineer of Record and cross-disciplinary design teams, plus production tracking, expediting, and factory witness testing.
Working knowledge of equipment commercial terms including warranties, storage, startup, liquidated damages, title, and risk of loss.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent equipment packages across multiple sites and schedules.
Advanced Excel skills, including trackers, bid-leveling models, and cost forecasts.
Experience reviewing mechanical drawings, equipment submittals, sequence-of-operations documents, commissioning scripts, test reports, O&M manuals, and maintenance documentation.
Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues to operations, leadership, vendors, design teams, construction teams, and commissioning partners.
Nice to have
10+ years of experience, including multi-site hyperscale, AI/HPC, or wholesale colocation programs using an OFCI delivery model.
