Manager, People Systems (Workday)

Location: New York City headquarters; hybrid

Salary: $147,000–$190,000 annually

What you will do

• Manage and develop the People Systems team, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality delivery, ownership, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
• Own the architecture, configuration, governance, release planning, testing, and communication for the Workday ecosystem.
• Manage Workday modules including Core HCM, Time Tracking & Absence, Leave, US Payroll, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Peakon, Talent & Performance, Sana, and integrations.
• Design, test, and implement new integrations and maintain approximately 50 integrations using RaaS, EIB, Template, Studio, and other Workday technologies.
• Lead the People Systems roadmap and integrations with peripheral platforms such as Greenhouse, partnering with Engineering, Finance, Legal, People leadership, People Ops, DEIB, and business leaders.
• Drive automation, AI enablement, process simplification, data quality, employee self-service, strategic insights, vendor management, and improved employee experiences.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in People Systems, preferably within high-growth or rapidly scaling organizations.
• 2+ years of experience leading others.
• Extensive experience implementing or managing Workday, with deep knowledge of Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Optimization modules.
• Demonstrated experience exploring or implementing AI-powered solutions in People Systems, including automation, data enrichment, or natural-language tools integrated with Workday or adjacent platforms.
• Ability to assess emerging AI technologies, experiment thoughtfully, and champion tools that improve scale, accuracy, and employee experience.
• Proven ability to identify process improvements and use data and metrics to inform decisions and measure impact.
• Strong commercial mindset, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, emotional intelligence, communication skills, and a user-centered mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with Learning platforms, Greenhouse ATS, and other peripheral People systems.
