Senior Specialist, Decision Intelligence (AI)

Location: Hybrid; available in four locations, including Lucerne, Schachen, and Werthenstein, Switzerland, with an additional US location.

Salary: USD 117,000–184,200 annual base salary for the additional US location; annual bonus and long-term incentive may also apply.

What you will do

• Translate business processes and stakeholder requirements into mathematical models, technical specifications, simulations, and optimization solutions.
• Develop probabilistic forecasting, stochastic optimization, machine learning, and other advanced analytics for data-driven decision-making.
• Build scalable data foundations and pipelines using Databricks, Python, Dataverse, and SQL, transforming raw data into AI-ready data products.
• Develop WebApps and agentic AI workflows that enable business users to interact with data products, model outputs, and automated decision-making processes.
• Define and track KPIs, develop business cases, and communicate the value of digital capabilities across DSCS.
• Document models, code, data products, architectures, and processes; provide training and technical support during capability rollouts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, or a comparable technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science, operations research, data engineering, or another highly technical role.
• Strong expertise in Python and experience building and deploying advanced machine learning models.
• Experience gathering complex requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translating them into technical roadmaps.
• Familiarity with or strong interest in Agentic AI and integrating AI agents into workflows.
• Proven experience with GitHub and version control; proficiency with VS Code or an equivalent integrated development environment; comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Cline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, collaboration, and stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Independent decision-making ability and a proactive approach to delivering results.

Nice to have

• Pharmaceutical development and/or clinical supply chain experience.
• Understanding of CMC development across small-molecule, large-molecule, or vaccine modalities.
• Databricks and MLOps experience.
• Experience deploying applications or agents.
