Head of Talent Development and Learning

What you will do

• Shape and execute an enterprise-wide talent development and learning strategy and roadmap aligned with business, workforce, leadership, professional, technology, and emerging capability needs.
• Analyse learning needs, skills data, and feedback to develop the 70:20:10 learning approach, digital curriculum, and short-course offerings.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate scalable talent, management, and leadership development programmes.
• Partner with senior leaders to improve leadership effectiveness, team performance, and coaching capability.
• Lead the learning ecosystem and governance, including learning technologies, digital content, external partners, standards, budgets, suppliers, and investment priorities.
• Develop the Talent Development and Learning team, strengthen future-leader and critical-talent pipelines, evolve skills frameworks, and support responsible adoption of AI and other innovative technologies.

Requirements

• Significant experience in talent, management, leadership, and learning development, including shaping enterprise-wide approaches in a complex organisation.
• Experience translating business strategy, workforce requirements, and future capability needs into talent, learning, and development priorities.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Experience working with and influencing senior leaders and stakeholders across a complex organisation, with credibility to advise, challenge, and build alignment.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable talent, leadership, and learning solutions that build leadership, professional, and technical capability and support measurable business outcomes.
• Experience using data and insight to evaluate impact and demonstrate return on investment from talent and learning solutions.
• Strong commercial and business acumen, including managing budgets, technology, suppliers, and external partners and prioritising investment against business value.
• Strong communication, facilitation, coaching, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to different audiences.
• Strong understanding of contemporary learning practice, including blended and digital learning, learning technologies, and emerging AI-enabled approaches.
• Degree-level qualification, relevant professional qualification, or equivalent experience.
