Project Team - Senior Business Analyst

Location: Liverpool City Centre, UK; hybrid working available.

What you will do

• Lead complex projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivery of operational and technically complex improvements.
• Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, and recommendations for business opportunities and supplier engagements.
• Translate business and technical requirements into actionable solutions, including third-party implementations, and collaborate with development teams on solution design.
• Lead As-Is and To-Be process modelling, apply business analysis activities across delivery frameworks including Agile, and challenge technical approaches constructively.
• Use SQL and Excel for data analysis and process reviews, and maintain documentation covering technical specifications, system architecture, data flows, integrations, configuration, and custom developments.
• Mentor and support Business Analysts through 1:1s, performance reviews, objectives, development plans, career progression, and succession planning, without direct line management.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally in insurance or financial services.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities without direct line management.
• Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated success delivering operational and technically complex business improvements.
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, including SQL and Excel.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and high accountability.
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills, especially in technical contexts.

Nice to have

• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, or equivalent.
• Agile or Scrum certification, such as Scrum Master or Agile Practitioner.
