Lead Business Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, based in the Salford Quays office in the United Kingdom; at least 60% of working time per month must be spent in the office, with an initial period of full-time office working for new starters.

What you will do

• Work with executive stakeholders to define business and IT improvement strategies, prioritise requirements, conduct feasibility studies, develop business models, and oversee holistic solution delivery.
• Lead business analysis service provision and define the value proposition of the function across the organisation or business unit.
• Identify opportunities arising from organisational and technological change and define initiatives aligned with business strategy and enterprise architecture.
• Manage day-to-day team delivery, remove blockers, escalate issues, liaise with external suppliers, and support production incidents.
• Conduct performance reviews and support team development and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Expert-level experience directing requirements definition and management, including prioritising complex requirements and aligning solutions with organisational strategy and vision.
• Ability to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices, select appropriate approaches, and act as an expert advocate for continuous improvement.
• Ability to set direction for business analysis across a programme, enterprise, or wider sector and guide strategic and tactical decision-making.
• Ability to define business modelling scope and methodology for complex real-world situations across a programme or organisation.
• Specialist business analysis consultancy skills, including framing problems, recommending methodologies, troubleshooting, and advising on implementation.
• Ability to translate business drivers, goals, and constraints into objectives, define required capabilities, and support operating-model changes through enterprise and business architecture.
• Experience developing stakeholder engagement strategies, communicating with stakeholders at all levels, resolving conflict, and acting as a consultation and escalation point.
• Strong understanding of business and technical concepts, with the ability to analyse IT system capabilities, identify functionality gaps, and communicate recommendations between users, development teams, and external suppliers.
• Ability to recommend appropriate testing approaches and techniques and analyse, prioritise, and validate user experience needs.
