Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas or Sunnyvale, California, United States; office-based role.

Annual salary: $90,000–$180,000 in Bentonville or $117,000–$234,000 in Sunnyvale, plus potential performance bonuses and stock.

What you will do

• Own scoped feature and model delivery in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Write reliable, efficient code across multiple programming languages throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Integrate AI/ML components, generative AI tools, and internal or external APIs.
• Participate in solution design and design reviews, applying scalable and maintainable software principles.
• Monitor application performance, implement telemetry, debug issues, and support defect management.
• Collaborate cross-functionally, mentor peers, and promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Either a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area and 3 years of software engineering or related experience, or 5 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Extensive software development experience with proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
• Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices.
• Experience delivering scoped features and models through iterative development and continuous integration.
• Experience integrating AI/ML components and using generative AI tools.
• Understanding of software lifecycle management, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Technical judgment in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with business goals.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area and 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies, digital accessibility, and accessibility best practices.
