Senior Engineer (AI Agents)

Location: On-site in Santa Clara, California, United States

Base salary: $200,000–$322,000 annually for Level 5 or $248,000–$391,000 annually for Level 6, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build platform services covering the full AI agent lifecycle, from registration and deployment through execution and teardown.
• Architect multi-tenant Kubernetes execution environments with pod lifecycle management, namespace isolation, persistent storage, admission policies, and identity propagation.
• Develop GitLab CI and ArgoCD pipelines, reusable templates, and deployment blueprints for standardized agent delivery.
• Build framework-agnostic infrastructure for agent SDKs and harnesses, including lifecycle hooks, skills configuration, memory services, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
• Operate Kafka, Redis PubSub, and server-sent events for real-time messaging, along with data ingestion, storage, session management, and agent recovery services.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, token exchange, gateway integration, and Vault-based secrets management while partnering with security teams on compliance and access controls.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in platform engineering, infrastructure, or developer tools, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Production experience building and scaling AI agents using frameworks such as Claude Code, Codex, or LangGraph.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise, including pod orchestration, persistent storage, RBAC, and multi-cluster management.
• Strong Python skills and production API experience with FastAPI, Flask, or similar asynchronous frameworks.
• Experience designing distributed systems with Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL, as well as CI/CD delivery to Kubernetes with GitLab CI and ArgoCD.
• Experience with AI data platforms, developer-facing APIs, OAuth 2.0, JWT, token exchange, Vault, and leading complex migrations or greenfield platform builds.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI agent platforms, agent protocols, MCP, A2A, LangChain, or LangGraph.
• Experience with RAG architectures, embedding pipelines, and vector databases such as Milvus, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
• React or Vue experience for developer portals and dashboards.
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure or platform tooling.
