Finance Manager (Biopharma)

Location: Alameda, California, United States; 3–5 days onsite required.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end divisional budgeting and forecasting using zero-based principles.
• Perform variance analysis down to the GL account, project code, and purchase order level, identifying drivers and recommending course corrections.
• Collaborate with accounting on division-level accruals during month-end close to support accurate financial reporting.
• Build and present forecast decks for divisional and executive leadership, connecting operational metrics with financial outcomes.
• Partner with business leaders to align forecasts with operational realities, build data-driven models, and support decision-making.
• Improve forecasting efficiency and accuracy through enterprise planning systems and advanced Excel analytics.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of progressive finance experience, including divisional FP&A or business unit ownership.
• Experience in pharma, medical device, life sciences, or another regulated, science-based industry.
• Strong command of Excel and proficiency with Oracle EPM, Hyperion, Anaplan, or equivalent enterprise planning tools.
• Ability to connect high-level P&L outcomes with detailed transactional data and generate strategic insights.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to engage cross-functionally and influence leadership decisions through clear financial storytelling.
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, hands-on approach to data, with comfort handling both tactical execution and strategic analysis.
