Sr Software Engineer (Hybrid) (Embedded Systems)

Location: US - Massachusetts; hybrid working arrangement with required on-site work from an hirify.global office.

Annual base salary: $128,000.00–$191,975.00 for U.S.-based positions; incentive compensation may also apply.

hirify.global develops medical devices and software for diabetes management, including the Omnipod insulin delivery platform and related drug-delivery technologies.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and document embedded system software for new and existing hirify.global products.
• Create and maintain software design documentation and testing requirements.
• Ensure software activities and designs comply with company policies and medical-product requirements.
• Integrate, debug, and test systems with software, software QA, and hardware engineers.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing to meet technical, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in product design reviews and contribute to software project initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a relevant master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming skills in C and/or C++.
• Hands-on experience with embedded systems.
• Experience with ARM, TI, MSP, or similar embedded-system processors and microcontrollers.
• Ability to serve as a technical lead and contribute to or direct internal and external development teams.
• Working knowledge of software design and strong software engineering development skills.
• Knowledge of operating-system concepts including deadlocks, threading, mutual exclusion, and interrupt services.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and take responsibility for designing, implementing, and maintaining part of a design.

Nice to have

• Experience developing software for embedded microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, Flash, EEPROM, and/or USB.
• Familiarity with communication systems and wireless protocols, including Bluetooth Low Energy.
• Medical device experience.
• Good understanding of RTOS and real-time systems.
• In-depth object-oriented programming knowledge.
• Familiarity with reading electrical schematics.
• Agile or other software development life-cycle experience.
