Software Developer Intern

Location: Remote within the United States; availability required from June 7, 2027 through August 6, 2027, during core business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. All work must be performed within the United States.

Salary: $20 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop, create, modify, enhance, support, and maintain low-complexity software applications and utility programs.
• Analyze user needs and design or customize software solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Code new functionality from specifications and modify applications from layout through implementation.
• Debug software issues, develop solutions, and support system components and enhancements.
• Write testable and efficient code, and assist with software testing, validation procedures, and strategies.
• Document software and collaborate with others to determine design specifications and details.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering, Geography/GIS, or a related field.
• Current junior student with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with various programming languages and proficiency in object-oriented programming techniques.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and experience with relational databases.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to commit to a fully remote, full-time internship for 40 hours per week during the entire nine-week program.
• Must be able to work within the United States and must not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, conduct computer-based work, and remain seated or stationary most of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, .NET, or Python.
• Experience with relational databases.
