Software Engineering Intern (January 2027)

Location: Toronto, Ontario; onsite at the Toronto office or hybrid

Salary: $29.75–$39.00 CAD per hour

hirify.global develops space connectivity technology, including a commercial optical data relay constellation and satellite communications systems.

What you will do

• Support the design and development of reliable software for satellite network infrastructure and mission control automation.
• Develop and maintain high-performance backend services and scalable applications.
• Collaborate with satellite operators, ground stations, product managers, and software engineers on mission-critical ground systems.
• Write tests and technical documentation.
• Participate in software design reviews and code reviews.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent program.
• Must return to studies after the internship.
• Prior internship experience developing backend services with Python.
• Experience supporting software development and writing tests.
• Available for a full-time internship beginning in January 2027 for 4–16 months.
• Available to work onsite in Toronto or in a hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience using Git.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases and data design, including PostgreSQL or DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with containerized software such as Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
