Software Engineer Intern

Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom; remote work with in-office attendance usually once every two weeks when the team is in.

What you will do

• Work as a full member of a product team for a paid 10-week summer 2027 internship.
• Pair with engineers, write and ship software features used by real customers, and participate in code reviews.
• Take part in standups, planning sessions, retrospectives, and other day-to-day team activities.
• Use the same tools as the wider engineering team, including AI tools such as Claude.
• Spend 10% of the internship on learning through lightning talks, communities of practice, or an individual project.

Requirements

• Expected graduation in 2028 with a degree in a relevant subject.
• Availability for the full 10-week internship.
• Interest in software and curiosity about how things work.
• Clear communication, willingness to ask questions, and ability to share learning.
• Enjoyment of teamwork, including giving and receiving feedback.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Relevant work experience, although having no work experience is acceptable.
• A project or example of something built, fixed, or figured out, such as a university project, side project, game mod, Discord bot, or difficult bug.
